Cithera - a chordophone.
Cithera, an obscure term, was used in the late 16th and early
17th Century to refer to members of the lute family in
recognition of their decendancy from Apollo's lyre. Its
relationship to the guitar (chitarra) is more evident.
Cithera is the home of David Lenson - lutenist and recording technician. This site is to highlight his work in both those areas.
